Welcome to Your Healing Journey
A personal letter from Fatima to you. Please read this before anything else.
Dear friend,
Thank you for being here.
I know it takes courage to reach out β and I want you to know that the fact that you are reading these words is already a brave and meaningful step.
My name is Fatima Abdulkareem Abidemi. I am a certified Child & Adolescent Counsellor, Mental Health Educator and the founder of the Break the Cycleβ’ Movement. For over ten years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside children, teenagers, adults, couples and families as they navigate some of life's most difficult emotional challenges.
Many people spend years blaming themselves for their reactions, struggles or relationship patterns β without realising that those patterns often began much earlier in life. My passion is helping people understand those stories. Not to remain trapped in the past, but to create a healthier future.
Why People Come Here
People often come to counselling because they find themselves asking questions such as:
- Why do I keep repeating the same relationship patterns?
- Why do I struggle to trust people?
- Why do I feel anxious even when everything seems fine?
- Why can't I let go of my past?
- Why do I always put everyone else before myself?
- Why does parenting feel so overwhelming?
- Why do I react so strongly to seemingly small situations?
If you've ever asked yourself any of these questions β you're not alone. And understanding those patterns is often the first step towards meaningful change.
What You Can Expect
When you begin counselling with me, you can expect:
- A safe and completely confidential environment
- Compassion without judgement
- Evidence-informed guidance
- Practical strategies for emotional wellbeing
- A pace that respects your story
Our First Session
Our first session is simply a conversation. I will ask a few gentle questions to understand what has brought you here and what you are hoping for. The goal is to establish therapeutic alliance, goals and treatment plan.
Sessions are 60 minutes long and are available online via Google Meet, or in person at my office in Ogba, Lagos.
Your Healing Journey
My Promise to You
If we work together, my commitment is simple. I'll meet you with compassion. I'll listen with respect. I'll honour your story. And together, we'll work towards understanding, healing and growth.
You don't have to carry your story alone.
Thank you for trusting me. I look forward to meeting you.
